Terms & Conditions for WordSmith Publishers’ Translation Services


The following Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and WP regarding translation services rendered by WordSmith Publishers, Guwahati, Assam. By accepting the services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.


1. If you have your original material ready for translation, you may now send us your manuscript. The charge for the translation is based on the number of stories/poems to be translated. The number as determined by WP is final and non-negotiable. The number is clearly visible throughout the ordering process. Any changes to this number will be communicated to you for approval.


2. After the formal acceptance of any Order for Translation, all prices and rates quoted/accepted are subject to change without notice. WP reserves the right to charge for additional Services requested after an Order has been accepted, alter without notice the currency in which the transaction is processed and/or billed.


3. It is the responsibility of the Client to select the appropriate service for the translation of the Source Material(s). (a)You can request a translation in part before the submission of the final translation for personal reading, editing. (b) You may accept the final submission in whole.


4. The translated files will remain accessible as POD (Print on Demand) file for a period of six months after completion unless otherwise agreed.

5. WP will not be liable to correct any errors or omissions that were inherent in the original Source Material(s) and which may or may not affect the quality of the Deliverable.

6. WP reserves the right to refuse to translate any Source Material(s) that is/are of an offensive nature, defamatory, obscene, in breach of any statutory or regulatory obligation, or is otherwise considered inappropriate by WP, whose decision in all matters shall be binding and conclusive.

7. A Letter of Agreement is to be signed by the Client giving formal permission to our Translator for his/her to translate the Original Source Material(s) into the required language.

8. WP Translation services can be utilized by paying an Advance of 60% of the total cost or Rs. 8,000/- (whichever is agreed upon at the time of signing of the letter of agreement) on submission of the original material.

9. Publishing cost of Translated book with 10 stories @ Rs. 1000 per story:-

1. Translation service fee = Rs. 10,000/-
2. DTP, Layout & Design charges = Rs. 3,000/-
3. Printing Cost of 200 copies of
Book with 56pages = Rs. 25,000/-
Total cost = Rs. 38,000/-


10. Publishing cost of Translated book with 30 poems @ Rs 500 per poem:-

1. Translation service fee = Rs. 15,000/-
2. DTP, Layout & Design charges = Rs. 3,000/-
3. Printing Cost of 200 copies of
Book with 56pages = Rs. 25,000/-

11. WP warrants that the proofread Translation Service will meet commercial standards for professional
human translation (i.e. human translation by a bilingual translator with proficient skill in translating the
concepts and terminology of specific text.

12. Time for the expected delivery date is approximately 3-6 months from the date of signing the
contract but WP does not accept liability for any delay in delivery. WP reserves the right to amend the
delivery date and will make all reasonable efforts to contact the Client if there is any change in the
projected delivery date.
